Years from now this very moment will be marked as the one that changed the course of history. Hogwash? Of course not. All great stories they need a humble beginning.
My prequel lasted eight years in both university and college. For me it was about the idea: how it works and its function. Sure I was pulled into advertising by its flash. Like Fonzie’s charm or the way Obama melted our hearts with his speeches, especially when they are about tax reform. It was what I learned about ideas that captivated me: their power and candour. How they pull people in and excite them. That feeling of creating them is addicting, and that’s why I’m in this business. I yearn to bring clever and unique ideas to life, so that I can say to my future kid “I did that”, and their response will be a speechless roll of the eyes.
The key word was speechless.
Since I got in this game I diversified myself. A prof once told me “Don’t be a one trick pony!” Well, I’m happy to say that I know at least 4 tricks and have been known to dazzle 2 year olds with my card tricks (I find kids 3+ too cunning). I specialize in copywriting and strategy, namely on the digital side and especially when it comes to CRM. Along with that I have managed projects and accounts, and have an understanding of development to the point where I often found myself planning out how to build complex platforms from the ground up - which included a CRM platform.
Career highlights:
- Gave a presentation to 25 of MINI’s international markets about CRM in Munich, Germany
- Diversified my skills beyond copywriting by managing MINI Canada’s CRM project for 5 years.
- Planned and built a custom CRM platform to meet client’s marketing goals
